Having the opportunity to taste wines I’ve never even heard of was so, so awesome! And they were all delicious! These classes have really taught me so much, and they’ve changed the way I purchase and enjoy wine!
You make wine fun and easy. And your taste in food pairings is also amazing. I love humble, passionate, fun people - you both have those qualities plus lots of other amazing things!
I was just explaining to another friend of mine how they get the bubbles in sparkling wine. And she asked me how I knew all of that and I realized it's all from your classes!
We started our Wine Society 3 years ago, and we have taken our members all over the world and highlighted some of the best regions the United States has to offer. As two Santa Barbara natives we were lucky to grow up with one of the most unique wine areas in the world right in our backyard. Santa Barbara County boasts a wide variety of micro-climates that grow an amazing selection of wines. It has everything, from the cool Sta. Rita Hills growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to the hot and dry reaches of Happy Canyon growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. In this class we will hand select 3 bottles that highlight what makes this region so special and demonstrate why this should be everyone's first choice to visit in California.
This class is very special to us at Crush It. We have been searching for and tasting wines from South Africa for years looking for the best options we can find to represent a fairly unknown wine region. We have succeeded in connecting with high-end niche producers that make the best wine South Africa has to offer. In this class we will take on a trip to South Africa, with 3 wines from 3 different regions made by not only the best, but some of the up and coming winemakers. You will learn how this country has cultivated and supported its growth to improve not only the quality of its wines but its vineyards as well. This will be a singular opportunity to explore a place that not many have visited and wines that are hard to get.
Chardonnay can be a major divide for wine drinkers. We have the California ‘Butter Bombs’ juxtaposed with the refined White Burgundys and Blanc de Blancs sparkling. Chardonnay contains multitudes and that is why we chose it to be a singular subject for one of our classes. Although we often refer to Chardonnay as the ‘tofu of wine’, that is what makes it such an amazing choice to learn about. We promise that our picks for this class will either change your mind about Chardonnay and its ability to be a truly excellent wine that can pair with so many foods or reinforce what you already knew. In this class we will hand select 3 different expressions of Chardonnay from around the world that will open your eyes to all of its possibilities.
This tail-end of the Mediterranean has so much history in the wine world, we will whisk you away to ancient and forgotten times. Greek wine can have a bad reputation in the wine world, but they have a diverse amount of varieties that represent a ‘sense of place’ for the entire country. Not unlike Italy, Greece has regional wines for each locale. We will bring you 3 wines from the best regions in Greece and demonstrate how wine, food, and history make some of the best friends. With this class our goal is to expose you to what makes Greece’s wine culture so special; it’s all about location, location, location. Each place has varieties and foods that are specific to the region. Our goal is to demonstrate what the country has to offer through 3 different wines that give you the best idea of Greek wine and how you can bring them into your home. Sail with us along the Mediterranean and discover some of the oldest and tasty wines in the world.
In this second iteration, we wanted to shake things up a bit and introduce you to some varieties you may or may not have heard of. Uncommon varieties are the best way to get to know new wine regions and what can be produced around the world. As before, we have searched far and wide to find the best wines that are not only affordable but can change your perspective on your go-to favorites. It is our chance to show you what unknown wines can bring you new happiness. We picked 3 wines out of obscurity for you to taste, learn, and love. We hope you join us on this amazing journey of the unknown!
Crush It Wine Society is a new kind of wine club. We focus on supporting small batch, sustainable wineries all over the world. Each wine is hand selected by our team and includes detailed information about the wine, the region and more so you can learn as you sip.
